Fast & Robust Multi-Threaded Architecture
Wowza Media Server Pro is a 64-bit Java based multi-threaded server. This provides the capacity to deliver the very high levels of performance that are essential for live & archived streaming. This enables delivery of content in many formats, including mp4, m4v, mov, 3GPP, Flash, MP3 and AAC audio. A special edition will also support MPEG-TS (Transport Stream) for interoperability with broadcast and IPTV systems.
Advanced Interactive Streaming Solutions
Wowza Media Server Pro has full support for interactivity via Java based server-side scripting. As Java rather than ActionScript has been chosen, it is simple to integrate standard components such as JDBC to simplify database integration and also to rapidly leverage the wide range of existing Java libraries available. An Eclipse based IDE is available free of charge from Wowza and this can be used by developers to develop and debug custom applications in a familiar environment. A range of example applications are provided and the included documentation gives simple instructions to explain how to get started.
Interoperable: H.264/AAC Encoder Support
As well as RTMP support, Wowza also supports RTP/RTSP publishing from live H.264/AAC encoders and other servers, such as Apple's Darwin or QuickTime Streaming Servers. It is also interoperable with a wide range of RTSP/RTP encoders and includes setup instructions for Wirecast, QuickTime Broadcaster, Orban, and HaiVision are available.
