Digital Video Asset Hosting With FocusOPEN

Archived digital video assets are demanding in terms of the hosting infrastructure and methods used to ingest and deliver them to end users. In this report we outline our approach to the delivery of audiovisual media for an enterprise with a repository of existing assets such as marketing or training materials.

The paper gives an outline of techniques for delivering video to end users with specific reference to generating previews of large video files using Flash Video (FLV). This enables users to preview footage first and avoid downloading bandwidth heavy files until they have found what they require.
